First of all, wet your hair with tap water prior to getting in the pool. In fact a nice shower prior to your swimming fun is best. Just wet it and you can also put in a leave in conditioner before swimming. When finished swimming, shampoo your hair with a hydrating shampoo and leave in conditioner. If you have highlights with a tinge of green from the chlorine, see your stylist for products that take away the green look. You can simply protect your hair by wetting/soaking your hair in water prior to swimming. Good luck!
moisterizing shampoo! .. i find pantene for dry /damages hair is great in summertime to battle the pool clorine. and blowdrying damages hair more than pool clorine does.. so when u can let hair air dry... i never blow dry my hair and mines really nice9 im a hair dressers dream) straightening hair also causes alot of damge( any iron, blow dryer, curling iron damages hair) they do make low impact straigteners. also condition hair really well once a month or so since u do alot to your hair.. remember the more stuff u do to it the more damge and drying it out u are doing. try a mask of olive oil, beer and eggs( yes it sounds gross but how do u think stars get thier hair so nice? thats what some really big names do) i do know thermasilk has a shampoo/conditioner than miminizes the damage heat based hair stylers do. but if u want healthy hair wash it every day with a rotating cycle of shampoo/conditoners always use it! i use garnier.. long hair version, pantene beautiful lengths version, herbal essences long term relationship version.. and once and awhile i'll do a long conditoning with a cream conditoner pantene makes great restoritives.. but again best thing to do is air dry hair... trim hair often, do less to hair, wash immediately after pool, brush it with a leave in conditoner. ... hair once it goes it really tough to grow it back.
theres one by Pureology called purifying shampoo and conditioner which works really good for taking out chlorine, but its kinda expensive. if youre looking for something less expensive, ive heard that UltraSwim Chlorine Removal shampoo works good as well. as for protecting from heat, buy a heat protectant spray and use it before you blow dry and flat iron your hair
