How is shampoo tested on animals?

ok so its just shampoo does it just go on the animals fur or do they out in them because its just shampoo do they use it like we do or what because i use panteene but i know it is on animals but does it kill them?

yea it can kill them and it makes them suffer they put it in there eyes to see what would happen if it got in our eyes and on fur withch some has chemicals that will hurt !!! use carrot to go its all made from food like melon,carrots and other stuffHow is shampoo tested on animals?
Look up 'Draize test'. They put the shampoo, or chemicals contained in it, in the animal's eyes for long periods of time to see what it does and make sure it is safe if it gets in human eyes. They leave the shampoo or chemicals against the animal's skin for long periods of time to see what it might do to human skin. The animals are effectively tortured with chemicals in their eyes and on their skin for days, even weeks, on end. The animals slowly go blind and have horrendous chemical burns. The animals are conscious and restrained.





They don't wash their fur with it, duh!
Use Paul Mitchell, it's a little more pricey, but never tested on animals. I believe the Body Shop also doesn't test on animals, and of course there are others I can't think of. Don't support animal abuse, it's so unnecessary!





Not only am I a hairdresser, but I'm also an active member of PETA: People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. I study things like this and do what I can to get lawmakers to STOP animal abuse!





Cosmetics (including shampoos) are tested by putting the product directly into the animals eyes and leaving it for periods of time, putting it on their skin for extended periods of time, and (this is not for the weak of heart) they will remove the skin from LIVE ANIMALS without anesthesia, apply the product, and see how it effects the animal and it's skin. It is freakin revolting. When you buy a product that is tested on animals, this is what you are supporting. I wish I was just making this up, fer real. It's horrible.

im imagining that they will put it in their eyes, bare skin, cuts or wounds, make them swallow it things like this etc. to see what would happen if a human was to do these things.


i think its sick and cruel, inhumane and quite frankly disturbing to hear that us humans would actually do these things to the earths animals for our own benefit.
well pantene uses a lot chemicals in their products that are harmful to you: so they'd definitely be harmful to animals =\





you want to stay away from shampoos with SLS (sles) or ALS in them as they cause hair to thin :: there are lots of other harsh ingredients to watch out for::
