How do you make home made shampoo?

why would you want to? the stuff you buy in the store is far superior to anything you could whip up in the kitchen. How do you make home made shampoo?
Stick to what you know how to do so you don't turn your hair green. How do you make home made shampoo?
You can make shampoo at home, it depends on how natural you want to be. The mildest, and kindest is to make a brew using soapwort. It does take a lot of time to prepare though as you need to peel and bake the soapwort roots before you can extract the juice for making the soap.

Alternatives are to buy soapflakes which you can get from most health stores and make your own. You need to melt it in water and add essential oils suitable for your hair, e.g. rosemary, lavender or lemon oils are a good starting place.

For recipes on how to do this, I recommend buying a natural beauty book and then you can make up supplies. I find the Neals Yard recipe book very good - it has recipes for a range of products you'd normally buy including skin creams. You can then make them as natural and organic as you like.
try some dishwashing liquid - just a tiny bit.
Not familiar with any homemade shampoo recipes. However, lemon juice adds subtle highlights to hair. Add a little to a spray bottle and spritz hair and spend a little time in the sun. Mayonnaise is a great conditioner for the hair. Condition with Mayonnaise and place a hot moist towel on hair for 15 minutes for a deep conditioning. Then, just shampoo out. Oatmeal is the best mask for your face. It makes it soooooo soft. Prepare plain oatmeal and rub it on your face and when dry wash off. Mashed bananas is great for your hair as well, along with egg whites (not the yolk!!!!). Good luck.
